Self Care O’Clock with Behind Her Eyes’ Nichola Burley

2020 will evidently go down in history as one of the most challenging years of our time. However, if there is one way 2020 redeemed itself, it is through the endless amount of content Netflix has truly blessed us all with. One of 2020's most-watched shows was the psychological thriller Behind Her Eyes, and if you haven't seen it yet, well what are you waiting for? The show's ending caused so much controversy and discussion that it had its own hashtag (Just Google #WTFThatEnding). We were lucky enough to sit with one of the stars, actress Nichola Burley who plays Sophie on the show. Nichola walks us through her self-care routine, memorable on-set moments and what she's most looking forward to after the pandemic is over.

Hi Nichola, thanks for taking the time to chat with us! First things first, how are you doing and what are you doing to stay sane during the pandemic?

My pleasure. Lockdown has been a blessing. The ability to slow down the pace of life that we dictated and to spend solid time together as a family has been amazing. Spending as much time as possible outside and counting my blessings is always incredible.

Behind Her Eyes has definitely been a top show on everyone's list. Tell us about your experience. Any fun on-set moments you want to share?

Behind her eyes is a really amazing show and something I’m very thankful to be a part of. It was so wonderful to work with Erik the director, he had a really calm focused vibe about him and the atmosphere that he set was so beautiful to be a part of. Most of my scenes were with Simona, she is such a wonderful actress and again always on point.

Many are using this time to up their self-care game. Can you share with us what your self-care routine looks like?

Self care for me is really about praying, spending time with family. Reading, eating and drinking healthy, been outside as much as possible and working out.

Let's chat skincare. Walk us through your skin-care regime. Any favourite products?

I am about to start the Obagi regime, simply to take away any sun damage and pigmentation and to gain a refreshed and re surfaces look. I have been prescribed this my a wonderful company called medizen who I am working with. Their results are amazing. I am also a firm believer in a factor 50 daily and vitamin c. I’m always removing make up and cleanse and tone daily.

I am most looking forward to spending more time with family. To get back on set and to travel as much as possible.
